About Us
The Fil-Am Orphans Foundation was established in 2014 by Precious and Alice Andam, alongside civic-minded individuals, to provide college education to orphaned and underprivileged children, enabling them to escape poverty and support their families. The foundation grew out of the Andams’ personal commitment to orphans, having previously adopted three orphaned siblings.
Precious Andam served as president, while Alice Andam served as vice president for Education and Scholarship and Chairman of the Board of Directors. The foundation first supported children from the Asilo de San Vicente de Paul Orphanage in Manila and the Laura Vicuna Foundation in Quezon City. Today, the foundation supports children from all over the Philippines.
The first young Filipino orphan to benefit was Annchel, the sole survivor of her family after Typhoon Yolanda in 2013, was the first recipient. She earned a BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Far Eastern University and is currently thrivng in the United States.
To date, the foundation has helped numerous students graduate and secure employment.
